📄Why USDT Lives on Many Chains

USDT is a token, not a blockchain. Tether issues the same dollar-pegged token on whichever networks have demand — Ethereum for DeFi, TRON for transfers, BNB and Solana for cheap rails, and so on. The value is the same everywhere, but the tokens are not interchangeable: USDT on TRON and USDT on Ethereum are different assets living in different addresses.

📄The Legacy Layer: Omni

No. The two are different tokens on different networks. Sending ERC20 to a TRC20 address (or vice versa) will lose your funds unless the platform supports cross-chain recovery, which most do not.
